Aaron Zeiler is a public interest communicator, exploring the intersection of research and storytelling to make meaningful social change. Based in Spitfire’s D.C. office, Aaron’s work centers around digital rights, criminal justice reform, and public health. He brings a strategic insight on digital communication and collaborative experiences to his projects. He joined Spitfire in 2018 after receiving his Master of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Florida.
Aaron is inspired by the work of social justice leaders who constantly strive to expand access to vital resources like broadband connectivity, recidivism support, healthcare, and higher education. He works with changemakers to develop essential communication resources like messaging toolkits and activities that generate productive discussions and creative solutions. By working together across issue areas, Aaron believes we can find new solutions that revolutionize the way we see the world.
During his time at the University of Florida, Aaron participated in the Karel Fellowship for public interest communications, establishing his foundation for social change while interning at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Following this experience, he presented on the need to take apart the malicious tactics of Big Tobacco at the 2016 frank gathering and was a member of the advisory group for CVS Health’s Be The First initiative. The Society of Professional Journalists Florida Pro Chapter recognized Aaron and his colleagues for their multimedia storytelling project – You Are Now Live – which examined the unexpected consequences of live-streamed video.
Aaron is a proud member of the Dunkin’ Donuts Perks reward program and is an avid fan of the Florida Gators.
