When the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation began supporting a groundbreaking new project in the Great Lakes Basin, Blue Accounting, staff knew they had an opportunity to make a real difference in protecting and restoring the largest fresh surface water system on Earth. But they needed a clear and compelling description for a complex project that would resonate with a wide range of audiences across the two countries, eight states, two provinces, and 249 counties that rely on the Great Lakes. Spitfire partnered with Mott and its partners at the outset of the initiative to create messaging for Blue Accounting that would clearly explain what it is, and its value to management efforts in the Great Lakes. With a strong message platform to guide all communication materials for the program, Spitfire also created collateral materials, including one-pagers, infographics and presentations, to explain the nuances of the system to a variety of audiences. We continue supporting Blue Accounting with exhibit materials and counsel to ensure consistency across all communication channels.
