Katarina Grealish
Account Executive
Katarina is a writer and editor with a passion for politics, policy and advocacy. Her communications experience includes press, nonprofit, journalism, research and creative writing. Katarina’s passion for social justice advocacy and love of writing brought her to Spitfire, where she works as an Account Coordinator specializing in legislative policy and politics, international issues and reproductive rights.
Previously, she worked as a press and legislative Intern with Senator Jeff Merkley’s office in Washington D.C., gaining experience with communications and helping her home state of Oregon. Katarina assisted the civil rights and foreign affairs legislative teams by conducting research, drafting memos and attending hearings, gaining insight into the legislative process. She also worked with the press team to draft press releases, quotes and digital content, tracking media hits and compiling press clips.
She honed her communications expertise in international affairs by working as a publications intern with the Council on Foreign Relations, as a political affairs intern with the Borgen Project, and living in Bologna, Italy, where she studied European art and Italian politics. Throughout college, she worked as a research assistant in the Legislative Campaigns and Elections lab, researching and analyzing midterm election predictions and writing candidate summaries.
Katarina graduated with a B.A. in political science with a concentration in American politics and public policy, and a writing certificate from Wesleyan University. She currently lives in Washington, D.C. where she enjoys dancing, exploring the city and reading in parks.
