Gaby Connor
Senior Account Manager
Gaby understands that strong, powerful and cohesive communication is the key to effectively advancing social change. She is passionate about supporting intersectional movements and leaders working toward our collective liberation.
At Spitfire, Gaby applies her strong skills in media, writing, and strategy messaging to help individual leaders and organizations elevate their voices and tell compelling stories about some of the most nuanced and pervasive issues impacting our society. She partners with leaders working to protect our civil rights from invasive and discriminatory technology, expand voting rights and access, advance community-led solutions to public safety, end gender-based violence and build the political power of Black and brown youth.
During her time at Spitfire, Gaby has helped social change leaders and advocates develop strategies that support their long-term goals and rapidly respond to opposition or instances of injustice. Her work has included counseling public interest technology leaders through congressional meetings on artificial intelligence (AI), crafting visionary messaging and narrative change strategies to advance criminal justice reform and technology equity, defending voting rights for returning citizens in Florida, driving positive media coverage about state-based, youth-led civic engagement movements and helping voting rights advocates effectively respond to mis- and disinformation about our democracy. As a co-lead of Spitfire’s EDI committee, she supports efforts to advance internal equity and foster continuous learning about inclusive language, accessibility and deep-rooted inequities.
Gaby is based in Washington, DC. She is a proud native of Memphis, Tennessee and lived in Florida for many years before moving to our nation’s capital. Gaby graduated with a degree in public relations from the University of Florida (Go Gators!). She enjoys spending sunny days at the beach and rainy days at the movie theatre, traveling to new places, running races for fun and taking long walks with her partner and their dog, Griz.
