Rural prosperity, economic justice
Partners for Rural Transformation
The Persistent Poverty Working Group, a coalition of 15 CDFIs eliminating persistent poverty and advancing prosperity and economic justice in rural communities, came to Spitfire because they wanted to develop a unified brand identity and officially launch their partnership. We joined them in South Dakota, just outside Badlands National Park, to lead a branding session to help the coalition develop a unique brand identity built on their deep connection to the communities they serve. The group identified the importance of using bold language to describe their work and ambitious goal to end persistent poverty in America. Using what we learned in the branding session, we developed a brand brief that highlighted the group’s collaborative approach, transformative vision for the future and unique focus on rural communities across diverse geographies.
After finalizing the brand brief, we guided the coalition through a renaming process to more accurately reflect their vision for the future. Once we landed on a name, Partners for Rural Transformation, we partnered with a designer to develop a logo that reflected the communities the Partners’ serve and their focus on collaboration and hope for the future. Next, we developed a message platform that articulates who the Partners are and why their work matters. Using this messaging, we drafted content and partnered with designers to launch the Partners’ new website. The coalition was thrilled with the result, saying: “I love this new website. You magically brought six different organizations together and made us look like one. You and your team are awesome.”
Spitfire is now working with The Partners to finalize a strategic communications plan to help them increase funding for rural communities on the federal and state levels. This work is generously funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
